Wisconsin
Progressivism isn't something imported into Wisconsin. It is part of our history—a tradition built on honest government, strong communities, independent thinking, and ordinary people standing up to concentrated power.
From our farms and small towns to Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, and communities across the state, Wisconsinites have long understood that we accomplish more when government works for the people rather than the privileged few.
A Proud Progressive Tradition
Wisconsin played a defining role in America's progressive movement. Our state's reformers challenged corruption, fought concentrated political and corporate power, strengthened democracy, and insisted that government could be both effective and accountable to ordinary citizens.
Strong Local Communities
Wisconsin is built from communities where people know their neighbors, volunteer, serve on local boards, support schools and civic organizations, and step forward when somebody needs help. Good government should strengthen that community spirit—not replace it.
Independent Thinking
Wisconsinites have never fit neatly into somebody else's political box. We value common sense, honest disagreement, practical solutions, and the freedom to question politicians and institutions regardless of which party happens to be in charge.
Working People Matter
The people who farm our land, build our communities, teach our children, care for our neighbors, operate our businesses, and provide our public services are the foundation of Wisconsin. An economy should work for the people who actually make it work.
Our Wisconsin, Our Responsibility
Wisconsin belongs to all of us. Protecting our democracy, natural resources, communities, public institutions, and opportunities for future generations is not somebody else's responsibility. It is ours.
